It’s been a minute since I've been to The McCord List because of the holidays, but it was really awesome to reconnect with the team and shoot Rachel’s collab with ShoeDazzle and JustFab.
Honestly, I came into this shoot really nervous because I rarely shoot indoor events so it was tricky navigating the space with my cropped 35mm lens. Its times like these where I wish I had a full frame camera to work with. But as my art teacher used to say “make it work.” Luckily I got some time before people started arriving to test out lighting situations and figure out which settings worked best with which spots in the event space.
I also got a really dope new light stick I got to use for the first time on this shoot. Its a great cheaper alternative to a flash with the added bonus of being movable so you can adjust the position of the light instead of having it shine in front of your subjects.
It was definitely a tricky event to shoot and I learned SO much. Also, can we talk about Rachel’s dramatic entrance from the party bus? Goals.
