You ever have one of those shoots that ends up sitting in the back burner because life just gets in the way? Kristen and I hung out in October but when the holiday season hit, whoooo boy did my lightroom catalog get filled up QUICK. But anywho, I managed to get some me time to work through my non client catalog and finish up loose ends from 2018.
Kristen and I met through our friend Karen of Karen.Rosalie and we’ve been online buddies for MONTHS before finally having some free time in our schedules to meet up over tea and lunch. I took her out on a tour of Little Tokyo starting with Chado Tea Room. The location was so quiet and calm, we honestly felt like we were in a little timeless abode in the middle of downtown LA.
Along with our little tower of snacks, I got a blooming tea that came as a little bud and slowly opened up as the tea brewed in the hot water. They’re always a special treat I get myself because I get to enjoy a little show before I take my first sip of the tea. I had my first blooming tea at a shop in Pasadena (I want to say its Bird Pick) and I’ve been obsessed ever since.
Like myself, Kristen is a photographer who shoots the most gorgeous beauty and lifestyle photos I have ever seen. She’s incredibly talented and we spent much of our time just talking about the industry and our craft. In the past few months, I’ve made a ton of online friends from various Facebook groups and on IG and its so so so amazing whenever I get the opportunity to spend some time with them in real life.
Afterwards, we went to get some bites to eat at Kura Revolving Sushi where Kristen got to try conveyor belt sushi for the first time. Before we said our goodbyes, we got some drinks at BAE and took some more photos around the area. Check them out below!
